Annual General Meeting

Hello to all Sinclair Park catchment residents!

 

It is, once again, time for our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our AGM will be held at Sinclair Park Community Center (490 Sinclair St, or the corner of Arlington and Church) on TBA at 7:00 PM.

 

Only persons residing in the catchment basin for Sinclair Park will be eligible to come and vote at the AGM. Our catchment boundaries are as follows:

 

NORTH - Carruthers Avenue between McPhillips Street and McGregor Street.

 

SOUTH - The lane South of Aberdeen Avenue between McPhillips Street and Arlington Street, and then the CPR Tracks between Arlington Street and Salter Street.

 

WEST - McPhillips Street between Carruthers Avenue and the lane South of Aberdeen Avenue, and the Arlington Street between the lane South of Aberdeen Avenue and the CPR Tracks.

 

EAST - McGregor Street between Carruthers Avenue and Mountain Avenue, and then McKenzie Street between Mountain Avenue and Redwood Avenue, and then Salter Street between Redwood Avenue and the CPR Tracks.

 

 

 

We will be holding elections for the Board of Directors. The following positions will be up for election at the AGM:

 

Four (4) At Large Directors - One Year Terms

Sports Director - Two Year Term

2nd Vice-President

​Treasurer

We also have two proposed changes to make to our constitution. The change are these:

10.9                Any current Board Member who has not attended a minimum of four (4) meetings in the past year will be deemed ineligible to hold a position on the Board, excepting positions with two-year term limits as set out in Article 11, and will not be eligible to run for any elected position for one calendar year.

 

Reason:            To ensure that quorum can be met, to ensure continuity in the running of Sinclair Park, and to ensure that Board positions are held by individuals who are committed to our community, and our community centre.

12.7                All meetings shall be conducted in one of Canada’s official languages, being English and French, to ensure that the diverse membership is able to adequately understand goings-on at any meeting.

Reason:         To ensure that all attendees at meetings can adequately understand what is being discussed, and communicate their thoughts effectively.

We hope to see many members of the community come out to our AGM and support Sinclair Park. Remember, the date is currently TBA at 7:00 PM!
