An Update for Sport Parents

Well, it is time for our weekly Monday update. Sadly, it isn't really a good one.

Our sports parents have all been made aware that we have been grappling with the effects of the virus on our baseball and mini soccer programs. We have waited until the very last moment to make decisions on what the plans for our 2020 sports season would be. We now have answers for all of our parents who have registered their children for mini soccer, and updates for our baseball parents as well.

Mini Soccer: Unfortunately, we have come to the conclusion that we will not be able to host our mini soccer season this year, as we had planned. We currently have fewer than 30 registrations, and no timeline on the province easing restrictions on gathering in groups. All parents will be receiving a refund of the fees paid for mini soccer. Cheques will be made out to the parent listed on the registration form, and will be mailed to the address listed on the form. There will be no exceptions to this. Cheques will begin to be mailed this week, and will all have been sent by Monday, April 20th. We never wanted this to happen, and we are so incredibly sorry that the mini soccer season cannot go ahead as planned. We are still looking at the possibility of a summer or autumn season, but we are not making any promises right now.

Baseball: Regarding the baseball season, we are still waiting for some direction from Northwest Minor Baseball. They are the group that oversees the league, and we have to follow along with what they're doing. We are hoping to hear from them soon, regarding their plan for the season. We are sorry that we don't have much information for our parents, but our hands are tied by the organizing body for baseball. We need answers from them before we can give answers to you. Please be assured that we will give you answers as soon as we possibly can.

If any of our mini soccer parents have questions, please email Shannon at spcc_mini@outlook.com. Baseball inquiries can be directed to Tracy at sinclairparkcc@outlook.com. Questions may also be sent through the appropriate contact portals on the website.

Thank you for your understanding.
